Oro Festival
from 29 June to 4 July 2021
“ORO FESTIVAL – Summer Edition” is the cultural festival that returns to Caprarola (Viterbo) in conjunction with the new edition of Caffeina.
A combination of music, literature and art that comes to life within the extraordinary rooms of Palazzo Farnese.
The square of the Palazzo, which overlooks the village, and the internal courtyard, Vignola’s masterpiece, will be the evocative backgrounds of an event full of entertainment and special guests.
Among these, for example, there will be two Italian famous singers: Piero Pelù, who will read the “Divine Comedy” in a rock key, and Francesco De Gregori, who will present his new book entitled “The texts, the history of songs”.
The festival will open on the evening of 29 June and will continue with a succession of guests, shows and concerts until 4 July.
CioccoFest
“CioccoFest” is the Caprarola chocolate festival and contains all its essence and magic: high quality raw materials, artisan producers, professional chefs and tastings of this irresistible product loved by young and old.
The town welcomes fans in dedicated parking lots, with free shuttles and a large pedestrian area where music and events will enliven the streets of Caprarola.
Eco Sound Fest
“Eco sound fest” is a music festival held every year, at the end of July, in the park of the former stables of Palazzo Farnese.
Organized by young people from the town, the goals of this event are the enhancement of the territory, the promotion of art and awareness of issues related to the environment.
As proof of this, the festival takes place in one of the symbolic places of Caprarola, which is the backdrop to the performances of artists both from the territory and beyond, all in the name of eco-sustainability, as evidenced by the use of eco-friendly, eco-compatible and recyclable materials.
In addition to music, it will also be possible to appreciate typical local foods and a rich variety of homemade beers.
Living nativity scene
On the occasion of the birth of Jesus, adults and children of Caprarola stage a characteristic re-enactment of the most important moment for the Christian religion.
For the occasion, the ancient cellars of the town are open to visitors to show the traditions and crafts of the past, all accompanied by tastings of typical local dishes.
The culmination scene of the entire event, the Nativity, takes place in a real cave where ox and donkey, as described in the Holy Scriptures, warm the Holy Family.
Hazelnut Festival
The “hazelnut festival” of Caprarola is the longest-running event of its kind in the whole province and every year continues to fill the streets of the historic center of the town in the period between the end of August and the beginning of September.
This is the most awaited event by the entire population of Caprarola, in particular, due to the “Grandiose parade of folkloristic and rural floats“: picturesque allegorical floats adorned with spectacular lights and cheerful music on whose notes young people (and not only) dance around the country.
The real protagonist of the party, however, is unquestionably the hazelnut, which sees its highest expression in the traditional Caprarola dessert: the tozzetto.
